"Gorgeous aromas of crushed blackberry and raspberry, with just a hint of toasty oak. Full-bodied, with soft, round tannins and a long finish. Concentrated yet balanced. Cabernet Sauvignon, Alicante and Petit Verdot. Best after 2007. 1,660 cases made. –JS" -Rated 92, Wine Spectator
"Sette Ponti’s 2004 Poggio al Lupo is a blend of predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon with Alicante and Petit Verdot made at the winery’s Maremma property of the same name. It presents a pretty, floral nose along with expressive, vibrant sweet dark fruit, showing excellent concentration and good underlying structure. The presence of slightly astringent tannins on the finish keep the score from going higher. Anticipated maturity: 2007-2015." -Rated 88, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
"This wine is mostly Cabernet Sauvignon with smaller percentages of Alicante and Petit Verdot that render a soapy, herbal nose with accents of root beer, exotic spice, lavender potpourri and green pepper corn. It is very well balanced. - M.L. (4/1/2008)" -Rated 92, Wine Enthusiast
