A blend of several varietals, Dynamite Red Wine weaves ripe black fruit with forward oak character in an intricate layering of complex aromas and flavors. Juicy boysenberry and blueberry develop the core, with broad strokes of mocha and toffee joining firm tannins through the long and lingering finish. This smooth, full-bodied wine shows nicely with rich Mediterranean dishes such as orzo tossed with roasted tomatoes and feta or a roasted lamb shank.
“The red blend is a winemaker’s wine,” comments Winemaker Bob Masyczek. “It allows us the flexibility to craft an ultimate blend of varietals for an elegant, supple wine exploding with flavors.” To do this, we picked the fruit at the peak of ripeness and vinified each varietal individually. To extract maximum character, we pumped the juice over the rising cap of skins three times a day. After the wine was aged in French and American oak barrels for 18 months, the varietals were blended together.
