The beauty of this charming wine is found in the complex layering of varietal characters. Opening with a rich purple-red hue, the impact of Malbec is immediately apparent in the color and bright fruit flavors. Supple black cherry and plum display the effect of Merlot. Finally, the solid tannins and rich, black fruit of Cabernet Sauvignon provide structure, knitting the myriad flavors and textures together. Pair with a traditional Argentinean steak, served either barbecued, to reveal the wine’s spiced notes, or caramelized to offer a nice, rich complement to the wine’s body.
The grapes for the blend were hand picked early in the day, when temperatures were cool and acids high. Each lot was fermented in stainless steel at low temperatures, retaining distinct varietal character. Daily pump over and delestage enhanced the natural aromas and lovely color. A portion of the wine was aged in French oak casks for twelve months and each lot was tasted and blended for the ultimate result.
