The 2006 Estate Vineyard Pinot Noir is an elegant wine that truly expresses the terroir of the red, volcanic earth where it was grown. Aromas of sweet wild rose, red and black fruits, clove and earth are complemented by flavors of black cherry, cassis, cocoa, vanilla and cinnamon. A medium-full bodied wine with a voluptuous mid-palate and big round tannins in balance with the crisp acidity. The spicy cinnamon and black pepper finish lingers into the next sip. Appealing now but will further reward those who cellar this wine. Peak drinkability is between 2008-2012.

Reviews:

"Ripe, plummy and spicy. Broad in structure, with fine tannins around a plump core of fruit that lingers on the finish. Drink now through 2013. 2,534 cases made. –HS" -Rated 89, Wine Spectator

"The Estate Vineyard bottling shows a definite meaty, almost Rhone-like aroma, but this is no Syrah. It’s a very elegant, light, sultry bottle of Pinot Noir. The tart black cherry and currant fruit is shadowed by smoke and cinnamon, but the balance throughout is light and delicate. — P.G. (7/1/2008)" -Rated 90, Wine Enthusiast
