Rosso di Montalcino comes primarily from young vineyards from the western side of Montalcino. Harvested and made into wine using the same care that is used to make Brunello, this Rosso is a young vibrant wine, that is ready starting in the September after harvest. Approximately 50,000 bottles are produced every year.
The wine's intense cherry red color and ripe, well-extracted wild cherry fruit aromas are offset by suggestions of leather and spice, confirmed on the palate in a chewy, forward wine of medium full body and velvety tannic structure.
