Estate-grown Vermentino, Bolgheri DOC 100% Vermentino from vineyards in Tenuta Guado al Tasso near Bolgheri on the Tuscan coast, south of Livorno. The first vintage of Vermentino produced at Tenuta Guado al Tasso was the 1996. The estate is located 60 miles southwest of Florence, near the medieval village of Bolgheri, in an area known as the Maremma. The 900-hectare estate stretches up from the shore of the Tyrrhenian Sea to the hills, and aside from extensive vineyards, grows wheat, corn, sunflowers, tomatoes and olive trees. The first vintage produced was 1996 with a very limited production and distribution is at present concentrated to the italian market. |
