The color is deep and youthful. The nose is a mix of ripe dark fruits, cassis, sandalwood and violets. The palate is rich and mouth coating with tannins that are clearly present, yet beautifully integrated. This is a delicious, full-bodied Cabernet that will bring great pleasure over the next decade.

"The 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon, aged in a combination of French and American oak for 24 months before being bottled unfiltered, has a dark ruby/purple-color and a dense nose of black currants, white chocolate, some toast, and vanillin. This medium to full-bodied wine has excellent purity and loads of character. Drink it over the next 10-15 years. Richard Arrowood still produces wines at Arrowood Vineyards and Winery in spite of the sale of Arrowood first to Robert Mondavi, then to Constellation, and then to Jess Jackson. He, and most importantly his boss, seems to have changed little, and that’s good news for wine consumers." -Rated 89, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

"Shows the impeccable balance you expect from this master winemaker, even in this hot vintage, where supermaturity was a challenge. The wine is certainly ripe, offering a mouthful of blackberries, cherries and currants. But it never loses its elegant tannin-acid architecture. Beautiful now, and should develop through 2014. — S.H. "Deep ruby. Peppery blackcurrant and cherry on the nose. Tight red and dark berry flavors are firmed by youthful tannins and complicated by herbs and roasted coffee. Turns fresher on the finish, repeating the cherry quality." -Rated 88, Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar

"Sweet, candied cherries and ripe raspberries are overlain in the nose by distinctive touches of mint and caramel, and the wine follows with ripe-tasting flavors that favor juicy fruit above all else. Rounded and almost slippery in feel, but still firmed by the right touch of tannins, this is an accessible Cabernet that can be enjoyed early on and one that does not call for more than a few years of further development." -Rated 88, Connoisseur's Guide to California Wines
