Colour: Brilliant, medium-to-high depth. Cherry red in the center of the glass with a garnet and tawny rim.
Aroma: Intense and complex to the nose. Aromas of spices and new wood (toasty, leather, vanilla and balsam) against a mild alcoholic background.
Palate: Well-finished. Powerful, enveloping tannic notes in the mouth that develop into an elegant meatiness and just the right acidity to match any dish.
"Plum, dried cherry, dusty spice and leather notes mingle in this mature red, which is still quite fresh. A balanced wine, it will make a fine accompaniment to delicate dishes. Drink now. 100,000 cases made. ĖTM" -Rated 87, Wine Spectator
"A little bit leafy and light, but thatís traditional Rioja for you. The color is a mix of orange and red, while the palate of snappy red fruits is beginning to slip toward peach and nectarine. If you like a leaner, racier style of wine, then drink this now. Itís probably at its peak. - M.S. (9/1/2007) " -Rated 88, Wine Enthusiast
