Mary Sullivan, winemaker for Beringer Third Century, chose grapes from premier Central Coast vineyards for this Chardonnay. “This wine is a tribute to Beringer’s three centuries of winemaking, and the spectacular vineyards I have to work with are a testament to Beringer’s legacy in California,” says Mary. The majority of grapes came from Santa Barbara County. The cooling, maritime influences in that region allowed the grapes to ripen slowly and evenly, and give the wine a desirable acidity. Grapes from these premier Central Coast vineyards give the wine a tropical, juicy fruit core.
