Reminiscent of blackberry jam in its deep dark berry appearance, this wine offered the panel strong aromatic hints of raisin, fig, dried mushrooms, and black pepper that seemed to leap out of the glass. The tannins were smooth but firm, possessing a fruit stand of blackberries, rich dark cherry, black plum and inviting tobacco with a slight note of bitter coffee. The full bodied crowd pleaser left with a leisurely stroll of through a spice rack of soft spices and delicate mocha.
The Enveiere is a dark, deep purple wine with a richness that is very forward in the nose, while multi-faceted layers of spice and fruits linger from the first taste to the incredibly long-lasting finish. This wine can be enjoyed now or cellared for many years.
