The pinot noir for this blend was sourced from Williams Selyem's Drake Estate Vineyard, the Coastlands Vineyard, the Hirsch Vineyard, and the Peay Vineyard.

Rich and dark in color, this wine exhibits aromas of wild berries, pomegranates, sandalwood, fresh herbs and toasty oak in the nose. The mouth is filled with flavors of raspberries, truffles, dried cranberries, roasted nuts, Asian spices and mocha. The typical Coastal acidity and concentrated tannins accentuate ripe, wild berry flavors and linger into the long, crisp finish. Abundant and somewhat angular tannins will fatten out with 4-5 years of aging.

" Deep, bright red. Pure aromas of spicy red berries, flowers and minerals are deepened by a gentle smoky quality. Suave and silky, offering sweet strawberry and raspberry flavors and showing no obvious tannins. A juicy, precise wine that finishes with impressive clarity and lingering sweetness. There's a lot of Hirsch fruit in here, Bob Cabral told me." -Rated 92, Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar

"Nicely concentrated but hewing closely to the mannered line of the Williams Selyem Pinots, this one blends ripe cherry notes with whispers of tree bark, dry soils and toast in its aromas and repeats that mix in flavors that are surrounded by a slight rise in tannic astringency. Time and balance are on its side, and a bit of time in the cellar would be helpful." -Rated 89, Connoisseur's Guide to California Wines
