Chocolate, smoke, blueberry, blackberry liqueur, vanilla, sandalwood, dark plum and a hint of allspice are all found on the nose of this complex Syrah. Flavors of blueberry, plum, dark chocolate, black pepper, nutmeg, black cherry and toasty oak combine on the palate to produce the bold yet surprisingly smooth experience that is, “The Big Easy”.

Medium to full-bodied, elegant, well-delineated, lush, and fleshy, with silky tannin in the finish, it should drink well for 7-8 years.
Former actor and current real estate developer, hotel owner, and vineyard developer, Fess Parker continues to oversee a bevy of top vineyards that produce increasingly better and better wine. His son, Eli, handles the winemaking at Fess Parker Winery as well as for his own label, Epiphany. I continue to be impressed with the level of quality of just about everything produced at this estate. These are serious wines offered at reasonable prices." -Rated 90, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate Untitled "This wine, from the Parker vineyard in Santa Ynez Valley, shows the voluptuous mouthfeel that’s made Syrah so popular. The flavors are of the ripest blackberries cooked into a tart, and then sprinkled with butter, vanilla, cocoa and cinnamon. How good is that? A pointed reminder that high alcohol does not necessarily equal heat. — S.H. (12/1/2006)" -Rated 93, Wine Enthusiast
