Local records point to the fact that Jean-Martin Geyl, an ancestor of the current day
winemaker Jean-Christophe Bott, owned vines as far back as 1795. During the Second
World War, the village of Beblenheim was held by the Germans and most winemaking
stopped, only to begin again shortly after 1945. In 1993, Jean-Christophe Bott
took over the family business and began to be noticed by wine lovers for his powerful
and elegant style of Riesling, Pinot Gris, and Gewurztraminer wines.

Fat and moderately sweet (20 grams per liter of residual sugar), with slightly carnal flavors of game and marzipan. Finishes ripe but a bit one-dimensional." -Rated 86, Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar
