Winemaker Graham Weerts handcrafted this wine exclusively from Stonestreet's Alexander Mountain Estate vineyards reaching 1,800-2,400 feet above sea level. Powerful and layered, this Cabernet Sauvignon is a fitting representation of the complicated, and rugged Alexander Mountain terroir. This epic mountain’s cooler temperatures and lean, rock-strewn soils yield wines of concentrated flavor, color and exceptional complexity.
Gentle grape pressing was followed by a saignée, a five day cold soak and a post-fermentation extended maceration to further intensify the wine’s color and dramatic fruit flavors. For added complexity, a portion of the fermentation was driven by native yeast. The wine was then transferred to small French oak barrels for 14 months of agingfurthering its fine-grained tannin structure and creamy spice flavors. Bright and lemony, with hints of grapefruit, herb, mineral and subtle melon notes. Has a lean edge, but shows a more supple, viscous quality on the finish.

Silky in texture, with sweet cherry compote and blackcurrant flavors, soft tannins and impressive power on the finish. Sweet and impressively seamless cabernet." -Rated 90, Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar
