Varietal character of lychee and fresh Bartlett pears with flavors of ginger and honeysuckle; the body is crisp but with a subtle impression of sweetness. The 2005 Gewürztraminer was produced from select fruit sourced from the prestigious Russian River Valley. Here the cool climate preserves the variety’s natural acidity and fruity flavors. After harvest in early September, the Gewürztraminer juice was fermented and aged in stainless steel tanks and then bottled in January 2006. The wine exhibits the distinct Gewürztraminer character and fresh flavors that the varietal is famous for. This well balanced, softly styled wine can be served as an aperitif. Its spicy flavors and fresh taste are also a perfect complement to Asian and other well-seasoned foods. |
