The color is a dense brick red color which suggests good extraction and optimal ripeness. The aromatics are intense and jump out of the glass; it is very concentrated with ripe black cherry, tobacco and ripe cassis essence. The palate is replete with big round tannins with a sweet sappy core of French oak, toasted vanilla and rich black raspberry and spice finish.
This wine is the must-do for beef dishes. Try Kobe style beef burger with carmalized onions and gruyére cheese on the grill or a New York steak with shaved truffles or a chanterelle mushroom in a browned cream sauce with roasted fingerling potatoes tossed in rosemary, Fijian sea salt and fresh cracked pepper.
