The vineyards of the red Côtes du Rhône Belleruche covers 4 departments (Drôme,Vaucluse, Gard and Ardèche) on different soils (clay and calcareous alluvial deposit terraces, clay) giving to the Belleruche an extraordinary richness and complexity.
Colour : Garnet red.
Nose : Red fruit aromas, mainly Morello cherries.
Mouth : aromas of red fruits (mainly morello cherries) and spices (liquorice, grey pepper).

"The red wine portfolio includes a sleeper of the vintage, the 2007 Cotes du Rhone Belleruche, a blend of 80% Grenache and 20% Syrah. The finest Cotes du Rhone Chapoutier has yet made, it rivals Guigal’s offering as one of the best negociant Cotes du Rhones produced. Its deep ruby/purple hue is accompanied by aromas of blackberries, cherries, road tar, and earth. Medium-bodied with silky tannins as well as gobs of luscious fruit, it should be enjoyed over the next several years.
Michel Chapoutier continues to expand his considerable empire throughout southern France. Recently he purchased Jean Marchand’s Domaine des Pontifes in Chateauneuf du Pape, so I would not be surprised to see a third luxury cuvee of Chateauneuf du Pape emerge from this passionate biodynamic producer of Rhone wines.
