Olvena’s flagship wine Hache is a blend of Syrah and Garnacha. The name Hache (AH-cheh) or letter “H” was inspired by the “cru” where the Garnacha is grown. “When viewed from a nearby hill,” says María José Abbad, “the pago or parcel where our Garnacha grows, has the shape of the letter ‘H’ and as long as anyone can remember, the people working our lands have called it by that name.” The forty-year-old vines, she explains, produce elegant Garnacha with nuanced aromas and flavors.
