Trefethen Estate's 2003 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon represents a blend of grapes from their two Oak Knoll Districts of Napa Valley estate vineyards. Planted in dry, rocky soils, their Hillspring vineyard’s vines yield wines with intense, spicy fruit aromas and flavors, while our Main Ranch’s valley floor vines, planted in richer, alluvial soils, produce wines with bright fruit and a velvety texture.
Inky, deep purple in color, the 2003 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is redolent of ripe black cherry, dark plum, cassis, cola, chocolate, and leather. The lush palate is concentrated with flavors of blackberry, clove, black cherry, and sweet oak leading to a long, lingering finish.
Pair with the finest cuts of full-flavored beef, lamb and game, especially dishes incorporating the complementary flavors of thyme, peppercorns and caramelized onions.
