Made exclusively from free-run and soft-press juice, this vintage of Calcaire Chardonnay was barrel-fermented in French oak, and softened by malolactic fermentation. The wine was aged on its lees, and stirred once every two to three weeks to encourage full flavor development. The majority of the oak (80%) selected was new oak, while the remainder of the wine was aged in one-year old barrels. This Chardonnay is a brilliant, silver-straw yellow color. Generous aromas of Bosc pear, baking spice, orange blossom, vanilla and a hint of toffee spice display typical Chardonnay character and a complexity that develops in the glass. The rich, silky palate delivers flavors of white peach and pears, enlivened by vibrant acidity and ending in a persistent finish.
