The striking Abbotts range of wines from appellations in the Languedoc reflects the experiences of Australians Nerida Abbott, wine researcher turned winemaker, and Nigel Sneyd, renowned international winemakers who bring a modern approach to traditional growing areas in the South of France.

Nerida and Nigel work closely with grape growers in producing and selecting the most concentrated and physiologically ripe fruit in the vineyard to produce wines with full, matured fruit characters and soft tannins.

40% Merlot, 35% Syrah, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Malbec, 2% Grenache Each grape variety in the blend is harvested separately at optimum maturity, fermented under controlled conditions with regular pumping-over and further macerated on skins for up to 21 days. The different varieties are blended after pressing and malolactic fermentation in proportions that vary according to the intrinsic characteristics of each vintage, however, always respecting the appellation requirements that the finished wine should contain at least 40% of the Atlantic varieties and at least 40% of the Mediterranean varieties.

Tasting Notes: The Cabernet and Merlot contribute fresh leafy, strawberry aromas which are complemented by the spice and richness of the Shiraz and Grenache. It is medium to full bodied and has fine, supple tannins.
