Mezcal Tobala is amde in very limited quantity, exclusively of a wild species of Agave. The rare maguey de Tobala must be gathered by hand at 10 years of maturity in the region of Taicolula. It gives this 100% organic and natural mezcal its unique aroma sweet earthy flavor and body. Unlike other Mezcals, Tobala is distilled in copper containers used as alembique. Mezcal Tobala is a very scarce commodity, due to shrinking natural habitat of the wild agave plant.
