Haut Medoc, Bordeaux

Attractive aromas of crushed blackberries and violets. Full- to medium-bodied, with firm, slightly austere tannins and a medium finish. Score range: 85-88 Wine Spectator

Perfumed rich ripe nose with a hint of honey and some blackberry fruit. Not well married on the palate at the moment. Only time well tell. Drink 2003." Decantor Magazine

In 1899, the Mondon family bought Château Abiet in the parish of Cissac. During the same year Château Abiet and Château Martiny were amalgamated and Château Cissac was born. In 1940, Angèle Mondon died and her grand-children - the children of her daughter Germaine Mondon, who had married the lawyer, Antoine Vialard of Pauillac, inherited properties as follows:

- Antoinette and Marie Vialard inherited Château Clerc Milon jointly

- Their brother Jacques Vialard, lawer in Pauillac, inherited Château Anseillan and the legal practice

- Louis Vialard inherited Château Cissac. Château Clerc Milon and Château Anseillan were subsequently sold to two branches of the Rothschild family.
