Bordeaux Barsac

5 Stars Decanter Magazine

The name of Climens appears for the first time in 1547. During the classification of 1855, the Climens castle was classified first vintage.

It was always regarded as one of best Barsac can be because of the proximity of Ciron or the composition of its grounds. Indeed, the fine argillaceous red roller and ballasting on a calcareous base fissured permett a natural drainage and a good penetration of the roots in the ground.

Commune: BARSAC Owner: Lucien Lurton Surface of 29 ha average Age of the vines: 35 years Encépagement: 100% Sémillon average Production of 15hl/ha Wine making out of barrels.

Between 1960 and 1971, the field knew problems but it was bought by Lucien Lurton in 1971 and this one attempted to give again all its gloss with the wine of Climens. Management is entrusted to Bérénice Lurton.
