Pomerol, Bordeaux user-friendly Pomerol, Clos Rene's 2000 possesses a deep plum/purple color in addition to a sweet perfume of kirsch, smoke, espresso, and caramel. Well-made and supple, with medium body, a sweet attack, a plush mid-palate, and light to moderate tannin in its easy-going finish, it will drink well during its first 10-12 years of life. It is a sleeper of the vintage. Rated 88-89 Robert Parker Pleasing wine. Aromas of raisins and spices. Medium-bodied, with medium, velvety tannins and a fruity finish.
