Pomerol, Bordeaux This sleeper of the vintage is a large-scaled effort produced by a member of the Janoueix family (who also produce the outstanding Lalande-de-Pomerol, Chambrun). It is a powerful, dense, concentrated, muscular, opaque ruby/purple-colored wine with plenty of cassis fruit. Aromatically, it remains tight yet provocative, revealing earthy, leathery, black fruits. Give it 3-4 years of cellaring, and consume it over the following 10-12 years This 100% Merlot comes from clay and gravel soils. Yields were 42 hectoliters per hectare and the wine is scheduled to be bottled with no fining or filtration. Sumptuous and full-bodied, this limited production Lalande-de-Pomerol boasts an opaque purple color, a gorgeous bouquet of overripe black cherries, charcoal, mocha, and vanilla, full body, super concentration, and a long, powerful finish.
