VINEYARD COMPOSITION/VARIETAL PROFILE:
75% Sémillon, 24% Sauvignon Blanc, 1% Muscadelle
136 acres producing 6,500 cases.
HISTORY
Before the Revolution, this land belonged to the monks of Langon and was sold as national property. Successive purchases before and after the classification of 1855 enhanced the estate, which was honored with the rating of premier cru of the commune of Sauternes. In 1971 the estate was purchased by Monsieur Albert Vuillier who developed the vineyards to their highest standard. In 1984, Vuillier sold to Domaines Barons de Rothschild, the owners of Château Lafite.
VINIFICATION
Fermented in stainless steel vats and aged 18 months in barrels -- 20% are renewed each year.
STYLE
Deep colored with an almost roasted richness. Fragrant, richly fruity, with scents of apricot and melting butter
