Sciacchetra' is probably the rarest of all Italian wines. Made by Riccardo Arrigoni in what must undoubtedly be the most enchanting vine growing area of Italy. Cinque Terre (five lands) named after the five fishing villiages nestled into inlets along the coast northwest of La Spezia. Until prior to World War II, these villages were accessible only by foot or by boat. The vineyards have been carved out of the rock and the soil has been transported to the steep terraces over the years.
