Comments from the Winemaker
Inviting aromas of roasted coffee beans, blackberries, plum sauce, toasted oak, vanilla and cherry are most apparent. Flavors of sweet chocolate, toffee, blackberry pie filling, and blueberry follow. Notes of cedar and tobacco add to the complexity of the wine. The tannins are generous, but nicely integrated, and help to create a wine that is elegant and powerful at the same time. This Merlot is approachable now but will continue to drink well for at least the next ten years
