Dessert wine, estate bottled - single vineyard Blaufraenkisch grapes were harvested on the 1st and 3rd of October 1997, and dried on straw mats for several months before being crushed on 11 March 1998. The Blaufraenkisch grape is the second most widely planted red grape in Austria. This wine shows raspberries, boysenberries, and dried red cherries on the nose. Full-bodied, rich and sweet, with a fullness of fruit flavor that develops on the palate. Kept in balance by the intense fruit character, medium acidity and alcohol, the red-fruit character shows through the long finish. Pair with mild chesses, berry puddings, cheesecake and dessert pastries.
