Vintage Description: The winter of 1998-1999 once again brought above normal rainfall. The rains ended by early March, allowing an early start on springtime cultivation. Temperatures remained cool throughout the spring, delaying bud-break until mid to late April. Summer did not bring the heat that we normally expect so the vines enjoyed a long cool growing season. Harvest quantities were average, and quality was very good. Tasting Notes: This classic American wine reveals lovely aromas of blackberry, pepper and spice. It is medium bodied with a slight toastiness and rich flavors of fresh cherries. Enjoy it now, or allow it to evolve in the cellar to enjoy in several years. Food Pairings: Enjoy our Zinfandel with any barbecued fare, hearty pastas, aged cheeses and beef or pork dishes. |
