Supple and velvety rich raspberry, cherry, and red currant flavors grow smooth and inviting on the palate of this concentrated and gracefully styled Vineyard Designate wine. The predominant fruit gives way to elements of aromatic mint and spicy red peppers which are accented with barrel-derived components of roasted nuts, toasted vanilla and caramel. Vineyard The historic Drummond Vineyard is named after viticultural pioneer John Drummond. He produced the first varietally labeled Cabernet Sauvignon here on the property in the 1800s. The vineyard itself is grown on a 6 acre rocky ridge with a southeast exposure. The vines are trained on a U trellis system. Fruit/Harvest 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. Harvested October 15, 1999 at 24.9ø Brix. |
