Named for the legendary Irish hero, Michael Collins Irish Whiskey is the first ultra-premium Irish whiskey. Affectionately known as “The Big Fellow,” Collins was the spearhead of Ireland’s struggle for independence and the architect of the Treaty of 1921, from which modern Ireland emerged. He died at the age of 31, but his heroic spirit lives on in Michael Collins Whiskey.
Michael Collins begins with water from the Cooley Mountains of County Louth, Ireland. Louth, known as the “Wee County,” lies on the east coast of Ireland. Its landscape is wild and powerful – the perfect place for a legend to begin.
The water cascades to Cooley Distillery, the only independent Irish-owned distillery in Ireland. Founded by John Teeling, an Irish entrepreneur with a Harvard degree who resurrected the distillery and brought it back to its glory days, the company has roots that date back to 1757. Recognized for reviving the tradition and quality of Irish whiskey, Cooley received the ultimate accolade from the International Wine and Spirits Competition (IWSC) for outstanding achievement in the spirits industry.
A refined blend of malt Irish whiskey and grain Irish whiskey, Michael Collins Blended Irish Whiskey is double distilled for proper balance of purity and character, then matured in bourbon seasoned casks from 4 to 12 years.
With a full, clean taste delicately balanced between honey sweet, citrus and malt flavors, and a fresh oak finish, Michael Collins Blended Irish Whiskey can be enjoyed neat, on the rocks or in a variety of premium cocktails.
