"This is a new brand from Gallo, named after a vineyard the Louis M. Martini winery used to designate. It’s a rich, sturdy Merlot, with a thick tannin structure, and shows forward flavors of cherries, black and red currants, licorice, blackberry tea, cola and spice. "7% Syrah; 2% Cabernet Sauvignon. Not much stands out as special in this wine at any stop-that is until it hits the back of the palate and there is also enough at each of those stops to like the wine overall. Its aromas are reasonably focused on varietal cherries, and it is decently smooth and supple on the palate while staying accessible all the way to the end.
