Winemakerís Tasting Notes: This wine is a good example of why the North East of Victoria is quite unique. Dense in colour with youthful hints of purple, the nose is aromatic with ripe plum and blackberry notes with a hint of vanillan spice from American oak.
The palate has similar fruit character, some of which is derived from the high alcohol, which is still in balance with the rest of the wine.
Inky ruby. Dense and almost porty on the nose, with lush raspberry and cherry preserve aromas tinged by high-toned notes of underbrush, licorice, mocha and dried flowers. Ridiculously sweet and concentrated, with explosive, palate-staining flavors of raspberry, blackberry, cherry, roasted game and floral pastilles and a sappy, clinging texture. Penetrating, remarkably concentrated and long, with serious heft to the ripe berry flavors. For those who like a drive on the wild side, here's the fast lane. Just don't light any matches.

Winemaker's notes: Fruit was hand picked, crushed into open vat fermenters, addition of acid no sulfur, where after a lag period of cold settling a wild yeast fermentation ensured with cap management- plunging by hand. Pressed into well-seasoned puncheons the wine was allowed to develop on lees for 18 months prior to transfer, settling and then a coarse filtration and bottling.
