Bottled to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the licensing of the Bushmills distillery. In 2008, it will have been 400 years old since Bushmill was granted their license to distill. And as these occasions come around so rarely, it’s only right they mark their anniversary with something special – the limited edition Bushmills 1608. Naturally, it offers the virtues of the finest Bushmills whiskies such as triple distillation for flavour, fully-malted barley, and maturation in the finest quality sherry oak casks. But in a pioneering development, the 1608 has been distilled with crystal malt, a special type of malted barley so called due to its bead-like appearance. More importantly, it delivers exceptional smoothness, lending a sweet, toffee-like quality and mouth-filling creamy notes to the spirit. |
