"A rich, polished style, with fig cake, mocha, chocolate pudding and raspberry ganache flavors that glide over ample but well-rounded tannins. The long finish is filled with dark fruit. For the hedonist crowd. Drink now through 2010. 3,170 cases made. –JM " -Rated 91, Wine Spectator

"The 2006 Amorio (100% Malbec), from a great vintage, spent 12 months in French oak, 60% new. It is opaque purple-colored with a splendid perfume of pain grille, vanilla, spice box, black cherry, and blackberry. Medium to full-bodied, it has a plush palate feel, excellent balance, and nicely combines elegance with power. It has enough silky tannin to evolve for 4-6 years and should drink well through 2020. Tikal is owned by Ernesto Catena of the renowned Argentine wine family. " -Rated 92, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

" Bright ruby. Tight, primary aromas of crushed dark berries, mocha, fresh herbs, pepper and cocoa powder, with a whiff of exotic dried fruits. Intensely flavored, focused and bright, with firm acidity framing the dark fruit and pepper flavors. Finishes with a liqueur-like sweetness, suave tannins and lovely length and lift. Still quite youthfully tight-in fact, a bit grapey today and in need of patience. " -Rated 90, Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar
