At first, one can get lost looking into the deep, inky-dark purple color of Christine Andrew’s Petite Sirah. This classic Petite exhibits exemplary varietal character, while crafted in a clean, easy-drinking style. The senses are filled with aromas of ripe berries, black cherries and blueberries with hints of honeysuckle, vanilla and cedar. This exceptional wine is full-bodied with a fleshy, luscious mouth feel loaded with a mixture of jammy-roasted fruit and ripe fruit flavors of dark plums, blackberry, vanilla and black pepper spice. Devoid of harsh tannins, the finish is smooth and complex while lingering on the tongue. Petite Sirah is known to have a great deal of body and tends to go well with stronger meats – game, beef, or BBQ pork ribs. It’s strong enough to stand up to a Blue Cheese tart and is an excellent companion to spicy sauces and hearty pasta dishes. |
