Sauternes consist of Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc, and little Muscadelle grapes. During the ripening season growers hope for the best conditions to produce Noble Rot, which typically leaves the grapes raisined and very concentrated. You will find plenty of ripe apricot, honey, and peaches in the nose and palate along with a wonderful balance between the signature sweetness and acidity. Like red Bordeaux, Sauternes have great potential for long ageing, especially in a 750ml bottle.
