In the Andean culture, the Amauta was the great teacher, the wise man of the Incan Empire, "HE WHO TAUGHT TO LIVE". This line of wines recaptures that Andean mysticism, and invites you to discover a thousand-year-old culture whose wisdom is expressed through the wines. We want these wines to inspire and impassion those who try them, and to invite them to learn more about the origins of Cafayate.

Color: ruby-red with violet tones.
Nose:red fruits dominate, with a subtle spicy ending, and mineral notes.
Mouth:good structure, robust, with present tannins.

"The 2006 Amauta Malbec (60%)-Cabernet Sauvignon (30%), Syrah (10%) is purple-colored with an expressive nose of cedar, spice box, black cherry, and blackberry. Medium-bodied and displaying some elegance on the palate, it has plenty of savory black fruit, light tannin, and 1-2 years of aging potential. Drink this solid effort from 2011 to 2021." -Rated 88, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

" Bright ruby-red. Aromatic, slightly high-toned nose combines currant, plum, licorice, violet and smoky oak. Juicy, spicy and sweet, with a supple texture and noteworthy complexity to the flavors of berries, minerals, game and herbs. As ripe as this is, it's quite fresh as well, finishing with a firm dusting of tannins and good spicy length." -Rated 89, Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar
