DEAU COGNAC is located in Sireuil (Charente, France) and more precisely at Les Moisans a hamlet in the hearth of the cognac region. All together the distillery estates add up to just under 100 acres. The distillery boasts 12 copper pot stills and several ageing cellars containing more than 2 000 barrels of cognac and several wooden vats. As a brand, Deau has existed only a short time. Prior to the creation of this label, the estate sold its Cognac entirely to larger, better known houses. Deau VS is composed exclusively of eaux-de-vie taken from the premiers crus of the Cognac region, and slowly aged in French oak barrels. The finished product is silky, fruity, and distinctly floral.
"Brilliant amber color. Aromas of toasted whole grain raisin bread and delicate spice are very pleasant and follow through on a very soft, and silky entry to a fruity-yet-dry medium body with a melange of dried fruit flavors. Finishes in a long, rich cocoa and peppery spice accented fade with lingering minerality and hint of nutshells. A superbly crafted VS Cognac tastes as good as some producers XOs!"
