New Holland’s Zeppelin Bend Straight Malt Whiskey The nose fills with cinnamon, creamy vanilla, and a rich roasted nut aroma (think almonds), without the slightest hint of youth. This isn’t old whiskey by any stretch, but it’s no spring chicken either. The spicy, sweet scents of the barrel are incorporated very well. On the palate, the barley surges back and forth, looking for a place to integrate with the spicy wood notes. And then finally on the finish, the barley sugars find their home. There’s a whisp of fresh cut wood, married to a unbeliebable toffee and cocoa crunch. This is a simply delicious, and very complete craft whiskey experience from beginning to end.
