Size: 750ml Varietal: Pinot Noir Country: United States Region: California Producer: Cherry Pie Wines
Artist TR Colletta's painting of a fresh-out-of-the-oven cherry pie on the label of this wine from Jayson Woodbridge is a mouthwatering, sensory experience, as is the wine inside. It comes from Stanly Ranch on the Napa side of the Carneros. Mostly fermented and aged in large French oak puncheons (a small amount was aged in stainless), it a fresh, ripe version of Pinot Noir, fruit-filled but not over-extracted. Red cherries, summer plums and stony minerality are suppported by soft tannins and fresh acidity.
"The 2009 Pinot Noir Cherry Pie is deep and concentrated. It shows tons of textural richness in its sweet, candied fruit. There is no shortage of lush, overt fruit here." -Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
