In 1846, William “Buffalo Bill” Cody was born in LeClaire, Iowa. On his journey down the “road of life”, he inspired and entertained many. Cody Road Bourbon is named in his honor. Handmade from local heartland grains,
It's made from LeClaire corn along with wheat and unmalted barley from Reynolds, Illinois. Bottled at 90 proof, this bourbon has a distinctive aroma with enough kick to know it's bourbon, but with a beautifully smooth finish.
Each barrel is handmade from white American oak trees, many of which are harvested in Iowa and Illinois. That oak is then cut and assembled into barrels at a cooperage just south of the headwaters of the Mississippi River in Minnesota. Once they are assembled, they are charred to a perfect finish and shipped to our distillery where they are filled and stored.
They use a variety of specially sized barrels, much smaller than those traditional used to age whiskey. By using small barrels, they increase the ratio of wood to spirit, so they're able to extract flavors in a shorter period of time. Their bourbon has enough oak to bring familiar flavors, but also young enough that you'll still be able to taste the sweetness of that local grain.
This premier bourbon bears William F. Cody's name and it reflects his spirit, charisma and passion for life. Enjoy a stroll down Cody Road today!
