Larceny carries on the tradition of John E. Fitzgerald Bourbons with wheat as the secondary grain instead of the traditional rye. Its mashbill calls for one-third more wheat than other competitors, making it a smoother tasting bourbon. Bottled at 92 proof, Larceny is the perfect base in a variety of whiskey cocktails. With its high proof, Larceny’s smooth taste allows it to be enjoyed neat or on the rocks.
Larceny was chosen as #18 on The 2013 Spirit Journal World's Top 120 Spirits in the World list with a 5 Star Recommendation, the highest recommendation possible. The list includes all spirit types, not just whisky.
"Pretty deep amber color; minor sediment seen under the examination lamp- inconsequential. The toasty, round, intensely grainy and supple first aromatics notes greet you right after the pour; seven more minutes of air contact release subtle scents of cocoa bean, cigar box and pipe tobacco; a comely bouquet. Entry is hugely chunky, bacon fat-like and honeyed; midpalate focuses tightly on sweetened breakfast cereal (honey-flavored cereal, to be precise), caramel corn, cigarette ash and tobacco. No wallflower, this attractive, demonstrative whiskey carries forward the marvelous tradition of Old Fitzgerald with panache. Remarkable value for money." -Rated 5 stars- Highest Recommendation, F.
