OLD RIP VAN WINKLE STRAIGHT BOURBON And RYE WHISKIES
All Van Winkle bourbons are aged a minimum of 10 years in charred mountain oak barrels. These lightly charred barrels give the whiskey a smoother flavor than most other whiskies on the market today. Each warm and cold season that the whiskey passes through the charcoal layer of the oak barrel staves, the spirit picks up color and a new richness-layer of flavor.

LIMITED EDITION
This is the only 23 year old Kentucky Bourbon sold in the country today. There are only 3,000 bottles of this very rare 23 year old bourbon. It takes generations of distilling know-how to produce a rare, well-aged bourbon like this. Only the most careful and expensive distilling method can be used to create a whiskey as special as this one.
These barrels were carefully placed in the heart of the warehouse to receive the most benefit from the variable Kentucky seasons. Each season, the whiskey passes through the thin, caramel layer of the charred white oak barrels, picking up an enormous amount of color and flavor.
This fine old whiskey should be enjoyed neat or over ice. "Pappy" used to say, "why ship water all over the country." In keeping with his theory and practice, Julian Van Winkle has chosen to offer this whiskey at a higher than usual 95.6 proof. This higher proof allows all the incredible flavors to come out with each tasting. This truly is an older and wiser "Pappy."

This is the #1 Rated Bourbon Whiskey in the World
Rated 99 out of 100 by the World's Spirits Championships
The 'Pappy Van Winkle's Family Reserve' is aged an unheard of 20 years, and bottled at 90.4 proof. This whiskey is wonderfully smooth and rich. No other bourbon today can stand 20 years of aging, but this bourbon does it with style. 'Pappy Van Winkle' was a true character. This bourbon, like 'Pappy', is full of the character that makes it a very special whiskey. It, too, has been put in a class of a fine after dinner cognac.

| | | | | Pappy Van Winkle's Family Reserve Bourbon 15 Year - 107 proof
The same goes for this mature 15 year old bourbon. The extra aging gives this older whiskey the smooth, char flavor that blends well with the barrel proof. The wheat in the recipe is quite obvious as this delightful bourbon passes over your tongue.
"A whiskey connoisseur's bonanza,... remarkable find,... ranks with the best whiskeys,"
-- Paul Pacult's SPIRIT JOURNAL
"Rated 97 -- the second highest rated bourbon in the world."

VAN WINKLE SPECIAL RESERVE KENTUCKY STRAIGHT BOURBON WHISKEY
Van Winkle Special Reserve is the perfect combination of age and proof. This sweet, full bodied whiskey has been described by some as "nectar." We agree! The 12 years of aging and medium proof of 90.4 seem to be just right in creating a very pleasant drink of whiskey. This fine whiskey can compete with any excellent cognac as an after dinner drink. The overall impression is rich and deep.
"Well crafted,... elegant, stately... balanced beautifully,"

| | | | | Old Rip Van Winkle Bourbon 10 Year - 107 Proof

This wonderful bourbon is bottled as close to barrel proof as possible. We add just a splash of our Kentucky limestone well water when we empty these barrels for bottling. Thus, this whiskey is as smooth as any you will find. The more water you add to whiskey from its natural barrel proof to its bottle proof, the harsher it becomes. This 107 barrel proof seems to be just right.

| | | | | Old Rip Van Winkle Bourbon 10 Year - 90 Proof

This fine whiskey has as pleasant a taste as any whiskey around. The 10 full years of aging combine nicely with its 90 proof. A hint of caramel flavor is enjoyed when one tastes this fine hand-crafted bourbon.

KENTUCKY STRAIGHT RYE WHISKEY - 13 YEARS OLD
Until now, most rye whiskeys were 4 years old or younger. This 13-year breaks the mold as it is the oldest rye whiskey available today. The maturity it has achieved while aging is quite obvious when you take the first sip. It is decidedly sweeter and more generous than our 12 year, but with oodles of rich, almost unctuous flavors that are ideally balanced with the oak. These flavors include cocoa, dark chocolate, and vanilla extract. Rye whiskey lovers who try this bottling will never again look back at the younger versions.
Spirits Journal -- Almost identical, rich, chestnut brown/bronze tint as that of the 12-year old rye, perfect clarity; this bouquet is decidedly sweeter and more generous than the 12's as buxom sweet cereal, vanilla extract, almost cocoa-like aromas gently impress the olfactory sense -- subsequent passes embellish the initial features -- the final pass, after ten minutes of aeration, add tea leaves, cake frosting, and spirit -- this is serious aroma territory; on palate, the rye enters so fully that it's impossible to mistake this for anything but an all-stops-pulled American whiskey -- the creaminess at the midpalate juncture is astounding -- oodles of rich, almost unctuous flavors, including cocoa, dark chocolate, vanilla extract, and cake frosting are ideally balanced with the oak and acid -- a truly monumental American whiskey experience that is destined to single-handedly revive interest in straight rye whiskey; heartiest kudos to Julian Van Winkle for these works of art.

This product has been discontinued by the distillery. We do not expect to restock.
This fine Kentucky rye whiskey is the first to carry the Van Winkle name in over 60 years. Twelve years of aging in charred oak through the variable Kentucky seasons has given this rye whiskey a strikingly brown/deep bronze color and a slightly distinctive spicy finish. Anyone looking for a more mature rye whisky will covet this bottling.
Spirits Journal---
The strikingly brown/deep bronze color hints at the treat that's about to come -- the appearance resembles a top-notch oloroso sherry, ideal purity; the nose at first blush is remarkably voluptuous and layered, showing tart early signs of buttered popcorn and caramel -- the second and third passes add sweet/sour hard candy, rye dough, and a subtle spirity piquancy that's turned to just the right volume -- the final nosing provides a sound aromatic summation, one that properly reflects the evident depth and grain spiciness that makes the experience so pleasant; on palate, the rye spice starts right in at entry, then mellows out at mid palate as lush waves of dark caramel, heavily toasted oak, and ripe red fruit headline the flavor part of the program; the finish is intensely spiced and distinctive; what a rollicking ride of fourth gear rye - wow!
