[ Home > Spirits > Balvenie Peat Week 14yr Peated Whisky - 2003 Vintage ]|
Since 2002, Balvenie has dedicated one week each year to run heavily peated barley through the whisky making process, creating a distinctly different Balvenie distillery style, one perhaps more similar to that of 50 years ago. The week chosen as 'Peat Week' changes each year.
The 2003 vintage is from week 34/52.
This whisky was distilled from a more heavily peated barley, resulting in a rich, smoky new make spirit. Matured exclusively in American Oak casks for the last 14 years, Balvenie's Malt Master carefully sampled the ageing whisky cask by cask, selecting only single malt characterized by a balance of smoke and the sweet, honeyed Balvenie distillery style.
